On babyboomers
During a random conversation this weekend, it was determined that babyboomers can be entirely blamed for the current economic situation we are in. Think about it for a minute. If American companies weren’t on the hook for millions of dollars in retirement and health care for each of theri retired workers, they’d be far more versatile companies which would allow them to adapt more easily to rapid changes in the marketplace.
Instead, they are strapped with huge amounts of obligational debt to their loyal retirees. Hey, I’m all about rewarding people for their hard work but I’m well aware that I have to both fund my own retirement and pay my own healthcare in retirement so if I can plan for my future, why the hell couldn’t you babyboomers have done the same in the era of prosperity that lasted approximately from just after World War II until 2000?
